Madonna’s camp says cease-and-desist threats from the creator of the “Girls Gone Wild” videos had nothing to do with the singer’s decision to change the name of her new single from “Girls Gone Wild” to “Girl Gone Wild.”
Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary told TMZ.com he was amused after hearing that Joe Francis had claimed victory in getting the “Material Girl” to cave in to his demands. Her decision to drop the “s” from “Girls” in the song’s title was based on the the way she sings it in the song. Madge’s manager also pointed out a recent “Billboard” magazine story that says there are 50 recordings with the same title.
Madonna’s upcoming “MDNA” album is due out on March 26th.
